So I didn't see much of Texas other than the hospital room during my stay in San Antonio. On Monday when we arrived, the nurses suggested that we take the day before Liam's surgery to relax and take in some sites. I think they could see the stress and worry in our eyes. We followed directions and spent the day at the Alamo and River Walk. Thought I would share some pictures of both. Here is some of the sites we took in,........

Tuesday's Tunes
So we are back! I have been away from blogging world far to long it seems.....but I had to take care of business. My little one is doing well, thanks for all of those who have prayed, encouraged, donated, sent cards, flowers and made us meals. My heart is overflowing with gratitude. There are so many that love us and it has been a journey I personally couldn't have made it through if it wasn't for all of you. THANK YOU! xx
Here is a great song from one of my favorite bands (in Highschool) that I have seen in concert a few times. Switchfoot! This will hopefully put a smile on your face as well as your heart :)

Daily Lessons
I have found that life is NOT a bowl full of cherries. I for one, have always enjoyed cherries, they are sweet, juicy and perfect for an afternoon snack and they are my favorite color. (My kitchen theme is even done is cherries!) But at the same time, you may get a sour one now and again and let's not forget the pits. This year has been just that "the pits". Seems like I can't catch a break. Just when I think things are running smoothly for once, my oven breaks, or the tire goes flat on my car. It's been so hard to think positive, when it seems like everything is breaking around you. God never says that life is meant to be easy,..but that through everything we must lean on him. I am comforted by the verses: (I am meditation on these)
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust,...sounds simple, but it's difficult most days. My understanding is what I see around me,...but it's all a part of God's master plan . There are things that will a go unknown, there are things that will pop up later in your life that help you understand why you had to go through something. I continue to acknowledge him by praising him for the blessings and knowing in my heart that he loves me. I am awaiting the straight path,..but then trust comes in yet again. Oh boy.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11
I have always loved this verse! It is wonderful to know that the Lord has a perfect plan set out for me in my life. He uses all circumstances to his glory. I am beginning to see that.
So even though life may be the pits some days,...I still love cherries! :)

I stumbled across this sweet shop called Dear Lillie. They are having a blogging contest and are giving away a gift card to their shop! I am loving their stuff! Let's hope I win! ::crossing fingers::
I would wear this dress to a wedding this summer. Maybe with this clutch? :)

Tuesday's Tunes
Have you ever had one of those days, weeks, months of just craziness? Nothing seems to be going right. Well that has been my life thus far in 2010. Seems like just when one thing is "fixed", another breaks. It's so discouraging! I am constantly working on being thankful for the things that are "working" and learning to trust that God is in control of those things that aren't. He has a plan despite all the craziness around me. I admit, trust is a hard thing to do. Especially when you are so used to fixing things on your own. (or so you think you are doing it all on your own) In some cases, life just throws in challenges and obstacles and you have to face them head on. There is no going back, you just have to trust that things will turn out the way they are suppose to. Such a hard lesson,..but I'm starting to surrender and let go of my idea's of control in my own life. There is a sigh of relief when you finally just let go. With any storm, the sun will eventually come out and the birds will start singing again. This song from Mute Math called 'Chaos' really describes how life is one big mess, but God holds true. He is the constant, the one who is their even when the world around you seems to be falling down. So thankful......
Fun side note: Tom got a chance to do sound for one of Mute Math's shows. Genuinely nice guys, that sure can rock.
Here are the lyrics:
"Chaos" By Mute Math
Complication's my claim to fame
And I can’t believe there’s another
Constantly just another
I can’t avoid what I can’t control
And I’m losing ground
Still I can’t stand down
And I know, yeah I know, yeah
I know you stay true when my world is false
Everything around's breaking down my chaos
I always see you when my sight is lost
Everything around's breaking down my chaos
It’s hard to trust anyone again
After all the let downs I’ve been through
Haunted by what I’ve been through
Air still trapped while I still can't breathe
And I’m screaming out
Give me hope somehow
And I know, yeah I know, yeah
I know you stay true when my world is false
Everything around's breaking down my chaos
I always see you when my sight is lost
Everything around's breaking down my chaos
I know you stay true when my world is false
Everything around's breaking down my chaos
I always see you when my sight is lost
Everything around's breaking down my chaos
Chaos, chaos
I know you stay true, yeah
I know you stay, yeah, yeah, yeah
I know you stay true, everything around's breaking down
I know you stay true, everything around's breaking down
I know you stay true when my world is false
Everything around's breaking down my chaos
I always see you when my sight is lost
Everything around's breaking down my chaos
I know you stay true when my world is false
Everything around's breaking down my chaos
