Handmade for Christmas {For the Kids}

Gingerbread Playdough. Love this idea! What a great way for your kids to "help" with Christmas baking without them actually playing with the cookie dough. I can imagine that it smells heavenly. Check out the recipe on The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbell.

Handmade for Christmas {For the House}

I hope your holiday weekend was memorable. Mine was just lovely. Good food, family time and beautiful weather! So thankful for all the blessings in my life. Now that Thanksgiving has passed, the reality of Christmas has creeped up on me. My goodness we only have 26 days!? What!!? One of my favorite things about the holidays are the Christmas cards you get in the mail. I especially love the photo cards!! Today at MOPS we made these cute little card holders! So easy and perfect for hanging over a door way or fireplace (instead of taping them to the wall...which is what I always end up doing). Make and Takes has a cute tutorial on it. Here is what it looks like.

Here are a few other great ideas for hanging up cards this holiday season via Martha Stewart.

Handmade for Christmas {For the Shopper}

Have you ever seen something somewhere and said to yourself "Why didn't I think of that!?" When I ran across this idea, that is just what I thought! Easy peasy! I picked up a few canvas bags on sale last year that I wondered what to do with. So glad I kept them! Need to get on this! :) It is almost too pretty to carry groceries in though. Maybe use it as a library book tote instead? The uses would be endless! Head over to Under the Sycamore and see how it is done!

Halloween Fun

I have to say, I still love dressing up in silly costumes. But even more fun is getting to dress up my little stinker in something fun. He is at an age now where he actually likes dressing up. He loves putting his dad's shirts over top his outfit (usually his arm is through the head hole and the shirt is dragging on the ground) or socks pulled right on up to his hips! I find that even at nearly 2 years old, he already loves to entertain all of us by his crazy sense of style. So this year I decided to wait and see what he was interested in, and based his costume on that. He has been a bit interested in his Daddy's beard. He walks around telling everyone to look at "Liam's beard." So I decided that he would get just that for Halloween! My little man was a lumberjack this year! Still can't believe he stood still long enough to paint on that beard. Check him out!

What did you/your kids dress up as this year?
