Forever

I wanted to share this beautiful video of my cousin Adam and his new wife Mikki. What a sweet little video to remember their Wedding day. (wish I had thought of that when I got married) It is still hard to believe that we are all old enough to be getting married and having kids, when it was just yesterday we were riding our bikes and playing in my grandparents back yard in PA. I am so happy for this lovely couple and I wish them many blessings on their life together!

A Fun Snack

I don't know about you, but I love Muddy Buddies! As a kid it was a fun treat that I really only had when a friend had a Birthday party or a summer picnic. When I ran across a version with lemon, I just HAD to try it!

Here is what you need:

9 cups Rice Chex® cereal
1 1/4 cups white vanilla baking chips
1/4 cup butter or margarine
4 teaspoons grated lemon peel
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 cups powdered sugar

1. Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chips, butter, lemon peel and juice uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
3. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; gently shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool. Store in airtight container

Trust me,..it's super easy to make, and it's really delish! It makes a lot more than I thought. I will be making this again sometime.

New In The Sewing Neighborhood

People are starting to talk about this new chick in town named Rebekah Merkle. She is a designer who is all the buzz in the sewing world. A woman from Idaho with five children who moved to Oxford England for her husbands job. She started out sewing dresses for her three daughters and it has led her to creating her own fabric line and patterns! Her designs are very bold and yet somehow has a traditional twist. How exciting to see that the new line is out! It's called "England Swings!" Check out the video!

I have been following her Blog for a little while now and love all the sweet little things posted. She is a true talent! I vicariously live through her site. Can you imagine, Oxford England? If only,..::Siggh:: Cheers Rebekah for the inspiration you give this stay at home Ohioan mom. I think I may have to swing on by and order some of the those delish red prints. You can never have too much fabric right?!

Inspiration

Lately I have had my eye on quilts. Every fabric store I have visited has had a special section specifically for the art. (Some fabric displayed these days are too bright for me...and other fabrics are just plain tacky) I have never dabbled into the "quilting realm" but I can appreciate all the work that goes into making one. I am envious of those who own a family heirloom passed down from a great grandmother or aunt. What a special piece of family history in every stitch.
I am thinking that I may just have to be the one to make one for my family. Not even sure how to start this very ambitious idea of mine,...but browsing never the less at all the quilting goodness there is on pinterest.

Not really into the super traditional style of quilt, but I like this modern twist....

Or this idea with the circles,...

But a big part of me loves these modern quilts,....

Come on, these squares scream "Meagan!"

And I am loving the idea of adding words!!!

Maybe one of these days I will gain the courage to start one! Any quilters out there who have tips on where to begin? Should I take a class? I would more than likely do most of the work on my sewing machine (some maybe can be done by hand?)
